Yes. It is mandatory for any child care center to be licensed with the (DCF) Department of Children and Families.

We also have Early Care starting at 7am, as well as  Extended Care until 5:30 pm for those who need it.

Yes. Unlike elementary school, preschool is not mandatory, which gives parents the freedom of deciding to pick up their children earlier or to enjoy different activities some other days. However, depending on the group age, consistency is key if expectations are set on getting your child ready for Kindergarten.

English is the main language spoken for learning activities, and most of our staff also speaks Spanish.  However, we are so very fortunate that many of the families in our learning community often come from abroad with different native languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Rumanian, Italian, German, French, to name some, providing us with a rich diversity of cultures.

Yes. 2, 3 & 4 years old groups each have their own classroom and teachers. However, children in the 3 & 4 years old groups do share many educational and leisure activities together as both groups benefit from interacting with each other.

The number of children vary according to the age group, however we usually max out at 16 children or less with at least 2 care givers in each group.

All caregivers must undergo strict Level 2 background screening prior to starting to work or training in the facility. They will also complete CPR and Fire Extinguisher training, in addition to the completion of the specific training that is required to comply with the regulatory agencies. All lead teachers are required to hold their corresponding credentials in the form of CDA, FCCPC, and others. At Green Explorers Academy all personnel, Teachers and Assistants are required to comply with a minimum of 24 continuing education hours a year.

Due to the nature of our program, on average, all age groups spend 4+ hours outdoors daily. Most of our daily activities are done outdoors. Including free play, learning activities, and meals.

AM & PM snacks are available every day in the form of a variety of fresh fruits, cheese and whole grains. Parents provide lunch.

Yes. GEA runs the academic year from August to May. Then, we open for Summer camp from June to August. Like most schools, GEA follows all major holidays.
